Anam Cara is a philosophy from Celtic culture about soul friends. Souls can connect spiritually and create strong bonds. The meeting of two individuals who, in many ways, are vastly different but complement each other is the main inspiration for this work. Differences are never an issue as long as we give each other understanding. It is in those moments that our souls feel “complete.”

Blending opposing visual differences by finding transitional forms as mediators is a creative approach to achieving balance. Female and male, geometric and organic, large and small, orderly and chaotic are contrasting components that will be processed into harmonious instruments. In the end, all opposites will be interconnected in a thoughtful manner. This also inspires the painter to attain wisdom.
